What I meant to imply by decrying your seemingly "playing doctor" was the fact that you dictated what reasonable and standard measures can and cannot be employed. In my opinion, there is absolutely no excuse for a doctor's not taking and/or a patient, who should be wishing for optimum care, not excepting something so basic as an x-ray in a condition where a fracture is a reasonable suspicion. Once you have so hand-tied your doctor, you may have abdicated your right to the expectation of appropriate and effective treatment. The doctor is NOT the only (and often not the most important) member of the doctor/patient relationship, and sometimes the patient is the one who solicits or even demands less than adequate care. I cannot categorically state that had you had an x-ray, you would not still have complaints, but I have to believe that this is likely not the only facet of your treatment in which you may have gotten inappropriately involved. If you are going to engage a professional, allow that professional to do his/her job. I can only comment based on the facts which you supply.

In the meantime, I would highly suggest an x-ray as a starting point.
