***********************************************************Acute infection would generally present as pain, inflammation, with or without drainage and local heat. You have presented nothing that would substantiate that. But there is no way in which the cause of pain can be determined without some sort of either physical signs or a history consistent with an event or condition which may have caused the symptoms.
As I have so often pointed out here, forums such as this are generally totally inadequate for the making of a diagnosis, as the diagnostic process calls for a multitude of investigational evaluations and tools all but one of which is totally unavailable in a forum venue.
There is simply no substitute for a knowledgeable hands-on examination.
