The excessively high-arched foot is inherently problematic, but focusing on your comment about your problem being nerve related, there are some very superficial sensory nerves on the top of the foot which have very little padding due to the dearth of subcutaneous fat on the dorsum of the foot. These nerves are easily irritated by pressure from the shoe, and, as you seem aware from your comments, the instep (vamp) of the shoe can offer a fitting problem with the high-arched foot, especially if it is an oxford type shoe and there is perhaps some swelling present. But this is mere supposition on my part, and you need to see a podiatrist for an actual hands-on examination and diagnosis. |
