Hi Pattie:
Saw your post and took an interest.
Although you very well may have palmar/plantar fibromas, these fibrous masses normally do not itch nor become red (unless friction has irritated them)
If you are having pain, as you describe, you may have an early sign of Rhuematoid arthritis with Rhuematoid nodules. Another thought is an "ID" reaction which is basically an dermatitis of the bottoms of the feet which also manifest in the palms. There are numerous general medical conditions that may show signs and symptoms like the ones you described.
The advice by "foot doc" is good, i.e., have this looked at by your primary care physician who may or may not seek a specialist's opinion.
I would not ignore these symptoms.
