Talia,
My name is kim and im 24. When i was 21 i also suffered from a lisfranc - breaking the ins and outs of the metatarsals too. I had 3 surgerys, one as soon as it happened, then one a month later and the third 4 months later. Im not a doctor but i remember feeling as though nobody really knew the answers - id never heard of a lisfranc and nor had anybody else i had spoken to- I found that the surgeon was good for the surgery but was not helpful with the recovery at all. My foot swelled alot for the first year and i iced it everyday. I found it swelled if it was down lower than my heart - (blood flow) could you try and put your foot on a chair at work? also the type of shoes i was wearing made a big difference. - cushioning innersoles / orthotics? Make sure your physio is the best.
Arthritis/? They do say that about bones your right. But their are so many different types of arthrisis that i would not be afraid of that. I was afraid i had it too but i think its more that you get the same symptoms as arthritis such as stiffness in the mornings or the cold. Do you get this? Roll your foot over a jar in the mornings- massage your arch to warm it up. My injury was bad in that first year, if i tried to run etc etc.. and i do alot of sport. But its been 2 1/2 years now and i hardly ever get pain, when i do its only from overuse.
So dont give up or be worried. Feel free to ask questions too, im not a doctor but ive been in your situation.
