I had the bunion on my right foot removed several years ago, but had dissolving pins, so they never had to come out. I had the bunion on my left foot removed 2 yrs ago but got a staph infection which led to osteomyalitis(bone infection). I had another surgery but it didn't help and am going back to see the doctor who told me when discharged I would probably need the 3 screws removed in the future, which maybe now is the future? Just thought I'd share with you.. i know it doesnt answer your question. I'm only 19 and find the whole bunion thing kind of scary...All in all. If you had no complications before you PROBABLY will be ok. I was the exception with my left foot and will probably have a painful screw removal because of the trauma, but I hope not! good luck!
