BudLaws, i don't remember your Dad. i was in Easy Company while you say your Dad was in Fox Company. We departed Fort Campbell, KY approximately June 1955 and went to Camp Chickamauga, Beppu, Kyushu, Japan via Globemaster Aircraft. We soldiered and trained there, jumping next to oita Bay in C-47 planes or out of C119 Flying Boxcars at Mori training area.Our 2nd Battalion went to Don Muang, Bangcok, Thailand via okkinawa and the Philipines in Feb 1956. It was a SEATO Show of Force. We lived in shelter half tents all lined up straight in Company and platoon rows. There were US Marines, Phillipino troops, Australians,New Zeallanders and us paratroopers. Thousands of spectators were there watching the demos. We were the biggest hit because of our battalion mass jump. We were gone for 10 days or so then went back to Camp Chick. We spent about one year in Japan and then returned to Fort Campbell to form the 101st Airborne Division. F Company First Sergeant was named Cartachia. Good luck, ken Hamill

My Father Esco Laws was in the 508th in 1956 and was deployed to Thailand then to Japan. From the information that I have gathered from local papers he was in Company F. I was wondering if anyone on this forum could give me any information on him or the time period? Thank you all for your service.
