I recently acquired a Newcomb TR1680. I would like to do some inspection and maintenance. Specifically removal of the platter for inspection of the drive mechanism, as well as replacement of the rubber motor mounts.
After removing the record adaptor, I removed the e-clip atop the platter and attempted to lift it off. This did not work. Rather than risk damage, I wanted to ask if I was doing this right.
In addition, are the rubbers mounts replaced from above or below.
