I can only comment on the words and information which you have offered. First of all, orthotics do not correct anything, they simply accommodate a problem and have the potential to restrict abnormal motion such as excessive pronation. However, in so doing, they may positively affect subsequent problems flowing from that pronation. But they only perform that function while they are being worn. Correction would imply that after a period of time, the device would no longer be needed. So, if your foot now is aligned and demonstrates no more pronation, that is only the case while you are wearing the device. I'm not sure what it is that you are attempting to relate with your statement, "My right foot seems to be rolling outward." You could either mean that you are over-supination, or that your right foot is abducting (angling away from the mid-line). But the fact that you state that you feel that you are walking on the outside of your foot would tend to make me feel that you are describing over-supination. If that is the case, you may be predisposed to inversion sprains of that ankle. What you really need is a good biomechanical examination, perhaps from the same doctor who prescribed the orthotics (if they were prescribed for you). It is not possible to offer any worthwhile thoughts on which you might draw any conclusions without such an examination.
