On a related note, Fred, have you considered offering a certification for home inventory specialists? (Or home and business inventory specialists?) This might bring additional credibility (and visibility) to the industry.
It could involve a written test (open book), plus submission of a sample completed inventory (minimum one bedroom house plus one stall garage) with photos (to allow for annotation of how complete the inventory was), and a minimum amount of time as a practicing "inventoryolist" (like three months? six months? one year?)
Then, individuals who received the certification (little extra revenue stream for NAHIP, too) could put out a press release touting their certification and get some press while getting some other people thinking, "Hey, I didn't know that there was such a service!" |
