There are a number of possibilities. With the machine OFF and unplugged, try cleaning the circular traces on both sides of the drum with a soft cloth and alcohol. A poor connection would cause this problem. Once cleaned, you will have to turn ON the machine to move the selector to expose the parts you missed cleaning. Let me know what that does. This may not correct the problem, but it has to be tried.
