fractures are classified by the nature of their stability and/or direction.bone likes stability,the more the stability,the less the pain.
I suspect by your being placed into a cam-walker,the fracture was consideres relatively stable.however, having said that,you need to be followed to insure healing is anatomic.if you do not follow up,you may unfortunately learn about non-union,mal-union,or pseudo-arthrosis.I highly suggest you not pursue that avenue.
