I compete professionally at snowboarding and suffered a liz-franc first degree seperation back in March of 2000. I did not have surgery but was in a cast for 8 weeks, then a walking cast for 4 weeks, then physical therapy for many, many months. About a year later, I was able to compete again with some dicomfort... until now.

I spent my summer waiting tables at a very busy resteraunt and by August my foot started to really hurt- every now and then I would take a step and I felt like I couln't even put weight on my foot. It is an intence sharp pain on both the top of my foot and throughout the arch. It feels like nothing is stable, like the bones of my foot are loose and spreading apart. It feels very similar to how it felt back in March of 2000 so I'm wonering if my Liz-franc injury is flaring up.

Before this pain began in august, I was running a lot(5 miles 5 days a week) and working a lot too. I stopped running, bought some good footbeds, and found a job that doesn't hurt my feet as much. It seemed to get better. Then I began snowboarding everyday. As soon as I strap-in I have an intence pain in my arch and on top of my foot. It hurts more when I put all of my weight on the ball of my foot and even more when I shift my weight further forward onto my toes.

Can an old liz-franc injury come back like this? I'm in the middle of my contest season and want to continue snowboarding but the pain is really getting to me.
