About twenty two years ago I had a hammer toe that was treated surgically and as the wire came out it was supposed to heal. I still have I also have a hammer toe on the other foot. At one stage my doctor and husband both tried to cut the wire. husband succeeded but then I accidentally kicked the bathroom cupboard and the wire is still in there. My feet seem to burn and I have a podiatrist appointment each month. I am 58 amd work part time but always in garden or on feet etc. The podiatrist cuts out the corns or uses a substance on them but they come back. The pain I feel seems to be underside at the lower parts of the toes where they are rounded before narrowing and attaching to foot I also have corns on top. I usually wear well fitting shoes but if I put on a heel or scuff type, no matter how expensive they burn and toes seem to rub together no matter what I wear. It is also painful along the outer side of each foot along the front half of the foot. I actually feel as though someone has run over my toes with a cement roller. I feel as though since going to the podiatrist that the condition has worsened as the effects of her treatment only last a fortnight. Could it be a mineral deficiency contributing to this. I don't want to have sore feet forever and I don't want to be restricted to matronly shoes. Can you help by suggesting any other therapy?
