***********************************************************True stress fractures of bones, if properly and timely cared for, generally heal without an extended amount of time. The question now is if:
1. The diagnosis was accurate
2. There were no other injuries or collateral damage
3. The treatment was appropriate
4. You have given that treatment your full and complete compliance and cooperation.

I believe that it was patently unwise for you to have returned to running, ostensibly without your doctor's blessing, and you may have futher complicated your recovery. Especially in terms of anyone who wishes to return to athletics involving the feet, post-fracture physical therapy, professionaly instructed, directed or administered should have been considered.

At this point, if you were my patient, I would insist that you refrain from running until well after symptoms have disappear. Your refusal to do that would result in my giving you a list of other doctors who might consider taking you on.
