I actually had my Dr's blessing to begin to return to running as long as the pain didn't come back. Since it has I have stopped. This Dr is a foot specialist who I went to because my MRI questioned whether I had AVN in the cuboid. This specialist said he absolutely did not believe it could be AVN and said it was just going to take time to heal. Mind you he did not order any follow up test even though my MRI was taken 8 weeks before my appointment with him.
