Dale, Roy and Lui:

I am not an engineer, so forgive me for playing one, but I actually love this stuff.

Anyway, regarding Dale's HE core and the problem with issolating the seperate cores for testing, could the issolation be done using cooling flow between the reactor cores. In looking at Dale's design I think the cooling tube in the center would have too little surface area anyway. What if you isolated the 8 reactor cores with cooling flow. Obviously there would be some connection since it is being machined from one piece of metal, but if the cooling tubes ran from the side between the cores to the center and out we would provide much more surface area for heat dissipation and it might tend to isolate the cores, not completely, but maybe enough to identify real differences between the cores.

I would leave it to Dale, Roy and Lui whether this could be designed but it might be a good way to use Dale's dsign with some modifications and get this thing going. Or I might just be a dumb attorney and if so you won't hurt my feelings by telling me so.
