You have voiced questions that I hear often.They are good ones. I hope you have followed his suggestion to do some study on this, because it really will clear up alot of things when you get the time line right, and also when you begin to realize that every time the word "church" is used in scripture doesn't mean US.
Remember, there was a church in the wilderness. Was this 'church' the Body of Christ? NOPE
There was also the church at Pentecost, which you referred to in your post. Pentecost was a JEWISH FEAST day and gentiles had nothing to do with it. OUR called out status with God didnt even begin until Paul was saved and God ushered in a brand NEW program, with brand NEW instructions for a brand NEW creation that was KEPT SECRET (Romans 16:25, Ephesians 3;9, Colossians 1:26,. Eph. 3:5)
A church was in existance with Peter and it was called the KINGDOM Church/ that is to say that it was Gods revealed 'called out assembly' of JEWS, whose criteria for salvation was completely DIFFERENT from that of today.
Peter isnt OUR apostle and he doesnt have OUR instructions. Paul was appointed BY God to be OUR apostle...not one of the twelve, or even the thirteenth, but raised up as a Specific apostle with a different message and ministry...all given to him BY God Himself. So when we refuse Gods appointed minister to us by mistakenly thinking Peter is our apostle, then we arent honoring God or following His will for us today.
If Peter KNEW the message that Paul preached,then why did Paul have to go to the council in Jerusalem to TELL them about the gospel HE was preaching and how it WAS different, and WHY did they, after they heard it, AGREE that he was right and that they would continue ministering to the JEWS, and that they recognized that Paul would minister to the UNcircumcision? They gave Paul the right hand of fellowship AFTER he went there to explain this new program to them.
Read carefully the scriptures I gave you above regarding the mystery being HID IN GOD...not hid in the OT..cuz you wont find it ANYWHERE there. When God has a SECRET, he knows how to KEEP it until He decides to reveal it.
