Jennifer,
There were problems with Bullinger, anyway. Bullinger seems to have been a hyper-dispensationalist. I believe that Pastor J. C. O'Hair, and Pastor Cornelius Stam, after him, were much better teachers of God's word, rightly divided.
I myself use the Authorized (KJV) Version, but due to study,am aware of the additions and subtractions that are in it, such as the addded verses in 1 John, chapter 5. But to say that it creates people that follow King James is slightly ludicrous. I follow the risen Lord Jesus Christ.
In reality, the failure to rightly divide the word of truth, as Paul teaches us in 2 Tim. 2:15 causes a LOT more false doctrine and teachings, than the Authorized Version of the scriptures. Failing to rightly divide the truth leads pastorss across America to teach a mixed gospel, "blending" the Gospel of the Kingdom with the Gospel of the Grace of God, which are two totally different teachings! The result is that you have people believing that tongues, healings, and miracles are still in use, among other things. That alone is the reason for 99% of professing, church-going Christians to be ignorant of the revelation of the mystery, and the fellowship of the mystery, which was Paul's great message! "To make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery".
The plain sad fact of the matter is that most people are lazy, and would entrust some pastor to do their studies for them, thinking that since the man is a pastor, he studies enough for himself and them, too. The problem with this is that the person that fails to study God's word falls into error, wherever the person that he or she is entrusting their salvation to does!
It is little wonder that our beloved apostle Paul exhorts us to "Study to show ourselves approved unto God", and to "be a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth".
