Hi Mark,
Read your missive in the Right Division (Discussion Forum) and I concur with your statements, by in large. I have been scrambling to find someone to dialogue with about 3 or 4 specific topics of New Testament scripture. Baptism; being one of those topics and so your missive caught my eye.
Echoing you, I am finding so much inconsistency with regard to scripture interpretation among so-called Christians, that it is disturbing. And allow me to narrow this down too. By ¡§Christians¡¨, I am not including the 1 billion Catholic idolaters either. I am discussing these matters with true Christians, if you get my drift. In other words, please don¡¦t tell me you¡¦re a Christian if you celebrate Christmas or still celebrate Christmas. ƒº
You buy the whole package or please be quiet. I am on a mission here, I am 50 years old and I just can¡¦t afford to waste time with idolaters. No matters how much scripture they have memorized and/or can refer to in a heartbeat. For it matters not, what you can read or what you think you know. It matters only if you can interpret.
So I won¡¦t waste your time either. Baptism, Judging The Dead and calling the holy spirit a Gift are the key issues weighing most uncomfortable on my faith. If you¡¦re inclined to open a dialogue with regard to the aforementioned, I am most grateful. Please advise. Blessings.
