Hello,
I have a callus on the bottom of my right heel that hurts like crazy! About 15 years ago, I was seeing a Podiatrist that recommended surgery. I had the surgery and in about 2 weeks, the callus had returned. I was told it was from wearing "cheap, ill-fitted shoes." I no longer wear cheap shoes and they have a good, comfortable fit and that has become a task because of the pain. Rarely, I wear heels. I started seeing another Podiatrist this year and he was gettng rid of the skin on my heel with a knife and sprayed something on it. The doctor told me it was to bring the callus to the surface. He also said that he could operate but there was a 50/50 chance of it returning. After 6 months, I stopped going because there was no relief. I am not a diabetic nor do I have any medical problems or foot deformities. I use a pumice stone and soak my feet to soften the callus so I can remove some of the skin. I use heel cushions in my shoes. I don't know what else to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
