Sorry I can't enlighten you on this, but I can sympathise as I have a very similar problem. Since taking up martial arts about a year ago my right foot has gradually become worse in the same sort of way, i.e. when I get out of bed it will barely take my weight, then after about 6 or 7 steps it's OK. Also, after any more than about 20 minutes sitting at my desk at work, when I get up it does the same thing for a few steps. The pain seems to be muscular (?) and mainly on the right hand side of the foot. Once I am actually doing my martial art, or any other activity, exercising etc, it doesnt hurt, just after any period of sitting down for more than 15 mins or so. Last week I had a very relaxed martial art class and since then the problem has been noticeably less pronounced, but is definitely still there. Not sure what this is. My GP said that were it something like a hairline fracture then nothing could be done anyway, only time would heal it, so it was pointless him sending me for an X-ray. Guess I'll just have to wait & see what happens, maybe try an ankle support.
Any thoughts? |
