Hello Foot Doc-
It seems like most of these liz-franc injuries have stemmed from some 'accident'. I feel that I may have liz-franc, but not from one particular 'accident'. I am a long-distance runner, and last May (2006) I went for a long-run and felt fine. The next day, when I tried to run, all the bones in my foot felt like they were broken. I have been to 4 orthopedic surgeons and foot specialists, had 2 MRIs, bone scan, CT scan, bloodwork, EMG, and wore a walking boot for 2 months. Still, no doctor can find anything to explain the pain. It has worsened to the point that it even hurts to walk and perform normal functions now. I am getting very agitated, as I am used to running 5-6 days a week, and have not been able to run once since September. Even worse, I see no end in sight. Finally, I found this 'liz-franc' and feel that this could be the problem. Do you think it could be and, if so, what do you recommend I do next? Running is not only a physical exercise for me; it is a mental stress-reliever and I don't feel the same without it. I need to get back in action! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
