Hi Kim, this is just to let you know that I had the same thing, hated shots, but hated hurting too. Was sent to a specialist who said he could give me a shot that should help and promised me it wouldn't hurt. I even asked his nurse if he would lie, before I told him ok. He was very good, sprayed my foot with a cold spray and gave me the shot, didn't feel a thing (and I am truly a coward). It helped immensely, I went back I think it was about 2-6 weeks I can't remember for another shot and have not had the pain since and that was 4 years ago. I'd suggest trying that rather than continuing to hurt.
