Yes, I have tried ice...I've tried everything. The last thing they did was send me to nuclear medicine for a bone scan. It showed nothing abnormal except mild PF in the left foot. It is my right foot, not my left foot, that hurts all the time. I have another appt. on Tuesday with the same quack. I've been off work for 2 months now. I went back 3 weeks ago and worked in severe pain for 5 days, the last 3 in a wheel chair. The last night I went home and took my shoes off and my feet blew up like balloons. The swelling was so bad it was in both of my feet and legs, but primarily my left leg and foot. I went to the E.R. because I was worried about a blood clot and they did many tests, including many kidney tests because I have been on NSAIDs for 6 months now, but everything was normal.
I can't understand how a bonescan can detect PF in my left foot, which most certainly hurts sometimes, but nothing like my right side. And why it wouldn't detect anything on my right side. Or why my left side swelled up so much...about twice that of my right side.
I really have no option right now but to follow through with this doctor because I have been off work for so long. The doctor filled out my insurance papers all wrong and I'm tired of fighting for the disability, which is only 1/2 of my salary anyway. This is not workers comp or anything like that, just a short term disability plan I took out at work. I did this after my 21 year old son-in-law died of brain cancer. I learned first hand how devastating it can be to be without income because of injury or illness.
Do any of the doctors here understand the bone scans? I was so diligent about this but am so worn out from fighting. I just want to go back to work but I don't want to hurt all the time. |
