A radical bunionectomy will have approximately 2-4 months of post op swelling. This does not mean pain. The height of the swelling will be the first 6-8 weeks. During this time period you'll be in your own shoes and should be able to shower and bathe the foot the day following the surgery. You will be ambulatory immediately after the surgery and should not miss more than a day or two off from work and should be able to drive the following day or so. |
