This appears to be a classic case of Motor Hypocondria as defined on page 13 of the Owner's Tips. How many tens of thousands of hours have gone into testing and R&D of this engine? Merc put a flush system on them for a reason.

If you're still concerned find a one line diagram of the cooling system and see for yourselves that there is very little (if anything) that isn't flushed with the built in system, regardless of whether the engine is warmed up or not.
