Had DPM perform severe bunion repair three weeks ago today. 20degree angle on x-ray. Had three weeks on crutches, now have boot for three weeks. Also was given n ultrasonic bone healing machine to use 20 minutes a day to regenerate bone healing. I had a metal plate and 4 permanent screws put in and one dissolvable screw and the bone graft, which was taken from the bunion site. The surgery was 93 minutes. Took percocet for a few days along with keflex and an anti-inflammatory for 5 days followed by 600 mg of advil 3x a day. Crutches were a pain, doing much better with boot. Lots of burning in bunion area still. Bunion was so bad that Dr. said couldn't do the other foot soon as I can't put weight on this one for a long time. Good luck. |
